98ÌÃapp is a well-established independent, co-educational, non-denominational P-12 day school in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW with 850 students. Bowral is approximately 75 minutes south of Sydney airport and central Wollongong.

An exciting opportunity is available for a friendly and personable individual to join our team as a Part-time Bus Driver.

The School Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school on a split shift arrangement working from 6.30am - 8.30am each morning and 3.30pm - 5.30pm each day. Additional driving for field trips, and other authorised excursion activities may be required from time to time. This role requires strict adherence to traffic laws and school policies, while maintaining a calm, patient, and respectful attitude toward students, parents, and school personnel. The driver ensures the safety of all passengers by following established procedures for loading and unloading, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, and responding appropriately to emergencies or incidents.

The position is part-time 3 days per week term time only with 4 weeks annual leave. Attendance is expected at all mandatory College key events and professional development activities.

The ideal role-holder will be responsible for:

  • Collection of bus from school

  • Following designated route to collect students as arranged

  • Maintain order and discipline in the bus, making sure that safety precautions are followed at all times

  • Before departing from the School, check the Roll in order to ensure no passengers are left behind.

  • Ensure that students are released into the care of appropriate adult, or as directed by parents/guardians

  • Take students and staff on excursions, when required.

  • After use ensure the bus is left with adequate fuel, is clean and tidy and all doors and windows locked.

  • Report all damage ASAP.

  • Complete bus inspection report sheets as directed on a weekly basis.

  • Other tasks as may be required from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the school.

  • Maintain professional confidentiality on information about students

  • Provide the appropriate duty of care and supervision of students.

  • Interpersonal skills appropriate to establishing and maintaining effective and respectful relationships with students, staff and parents.
